Meet Andrew Rothkin

(Playwright & Co-Producer)

ANDREW began acting 20+ years ago and has since gone on to wear most every hat in the theater including writer, director, producer, designer and Artistic Director of White Rabbit Theatre. Favorite fully staged works as playwright include Danny (White Rabbit Theatre), Paved with Gold (Ellis Island/The Hypothetical Theatre Company), A Day at the Fair… (commissioned by the Queens Museum ), Voice (The Strawberry One-Act Festival) and the award-winning tryin' t' touch the sun (White Rabbit Theatre/FHB Productions/Spotlight On). Numerous readings include Strangers on Hallow Hill , Alice on the Edge and the horror screenplay All for Sarah.

Bubby's Shadow was initially written as part of Prophecy Productions' 2007 Writers Lab, leading to a January 2008 reading of an early draft, semi-staged by Glory Sims Bowen. Andrew has taught playwriting, poetry, creative writing, essay writing (as well as acting, improv, theatre games, etc.) to many hundreds of students through his work as teacher and artist-in-residence, working with students' pre-K through college throughout Maryland , New York and New Jersey . He has numerous other pieces in development, and is currently most excited about his newest one--act, Meredith's Ring, and the preliminary stages for his first (completed) musical.
